KING EDWARD VI ASTON GRAMMAR SCHOOL FOR BOYS
King Edward VI Aston Grammar School for Boys opened in 1883 and is still located on the original site. This gives its students the opportunity to study in living hist
modern learning. The school boasts and outstanding rating by Ofsted across all categories.
The school nurtures its students’ independence and creativity as well as academic skills. With the Olympic Legacy Funding, the school established itself within the local community. Trips, sports competitions, residentials, visiting speakers, STEM experiences and theatre companies, as well as weekly clubs which are advertised to the student every term.
King Edward VI Aston Grammar offers extra-curricular activities in sports, creative interests, and academic societies so every student is sure to find an interest they can hone. Students are also able to find new clubs they feel the school lacks with a staff sponsor! All these exceptional services produce pupils with strong talents and personalities that enrich university applications.
King Edward VI Aston Grammar School has 120 Year 7 places making its entrance examinations highly competitive. Places are given based on catchment area and exam performance.
It is vital that students obtain the invaluable experience of sitting a GL-style exam in the King Edward VI Grammar School style. Most of our competitors do not accurately replicate these exam conditions as they do not use previously recorded audio files reciting exam instructions. This surprise can and has thrown off students at the very start of the exam negatively affecting their exam confidence.
